As pastor Andy Lucas completes his series from the book of Colossians we will hear it read, in its entirety.

Teaching from Colossians 3:18-4:1, Pastor Andy Lucas shows how Paul works out a framework of the home where there is mutual love and respect where the full humanity of each person is honored. It is in this new family context where husbands and wives are free to mature and develop along with their children under the care and protection of Christ.
Preaching from Colossians chapter 3, Pastor Rick Edwards inspires us to be clothed with Christ, putting to death all that does not reflect the goodness of Jesus. By doing so, we join Christ in a new humanity bringing love, reconciliation, and redemption to a world that longs to know the affections of a father who will never let them go.
Just like the church in Colossians chapter 2, we face pressures from all sides. Pastor Andy Lucas reminds us that giving in to these pressures would be compromise and would move Jesus away from the center of our faith. Through his life, death, and resurrection, Jesus has "disarmed the powers and authorities" and made "a public spectacle of them." Jesus is the reality to which the laws pointed and he is our eternal hope and help in times of need.
Jesus Christ holds together all of creation and He is the center of our faith. In Him we see God, and through Him we are reconciled to God. Preaching form Colossians 1, Pastor Andy Lucas reminds us that God is gathering to himself a new humanity that will reveal to the world what it means to live under the Lordship of Jesus.
Even in exile, especially in exile, God is at work all around us. Preaching from Isaiah 49:5-6, Pastor Andy Lucas reminds us that we are called to join God in his redemptive work. We are to have clean hearts and dirty hands, embodying the Word of God through our lives and inviting all to the Table of the Lord.
Empire is sexy and alluring; the fear is that our children will not be Christians living in America, but Americans who come to church once in a while. Teaching from Daniel chapter 1, Pastor Andy Lucas shows us that our task is to raise "resident aliens" by continually telling the story of God they are a part of and by sharing our practices of worship with our children.
We are to be a blessing to Babylon…..through work. Work is a God-ordained and blessed vocation to order creation for the good of others. Preaching from Jeremiah 29:1-7, Pastor Andy encourages us to live into this calling, our first vocation.
As God's people, set apart and filled, we need practices that will form us according to His story in us. Pastor Andy Lucas teaches that our everyday habits form us "from the ground up." So we lean into Christian worship and the Christian calendar as a counter-liturgy to the consumeristic liturgies we experience throughout the week.
God's unique people need a life-changing story. All of us are governed by story. The success, nation, humanist, etc. stories. The people of God are invited to live out the Christian story and invite others into that story as well.
