Sermon Scripture: Luke 1:46-55 (NRSV)

Mary was a devoted teenager who loved God. She, along with others, was waiting for God to do what he had promised through the prophets to do; send a king in the line of David who would set things right. After an encounter with the angel Gabriel, Mary uttered her most famous words, “Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word.” 

She then offers a song of praise recorded in Luke 1:46-55. With this song, Mary announced the beginning a kingdom Mary Mother of Jesus Luke 1:46-55 (NRSV) December 20th that stands in stark contrast to any nation (past, present, or future).
