Good Friday (Tennebrae) Service – April 19th @ 6:00pm

The word “tenebrae” comes from the Latin meaning “darkness.” The Tenebrae service is a long-standing Christian tradition on Good Friday. The service makes use of gradually diminishing light to symbolize the events of Jesus’ final week from the triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday through Jesus’ burial. At the end of the service, worshippers leave in silence and darkness to ponder the significance of Christ’s death and to await the celebration of resurrection on Easter.

This meaningful service will help us remember Christ’s death through scripture reading, songs, art, and reflection.
