Life Groups

At Emmaus Road, our Life Groups help us grow in our faith through connection and discipleship. As we seek to present Christ as Savior, pursue Christ as King, and partner with Christ in service, it is helpful to engage with the people in the congregation to find encouragement and accountability. Our Life Groups are small gatherings of people who get together to deepen their connection with Christ and His church.

Each group is based on your season of life, a common interest, or a similar need. We have two levels of Life Groups, enabling you to get involved, regardless of your busy and changing schedule. Level one groups require low commitment, allowing you to come and go to the gatherings as your schedule permits. Level two groups encourage steadfast attendance through out the semester, enabling greater connection.

The great thing about our Life Groups is that they are broken into three semesters. That means, throughout the year, the groups that are available to get plugged into change; that gives you the chance to meet and engage with different people doing various things and discussing current and relevant topics.

Surprised By Hope

Life Group Leader: Andy Lucas
When: Wednesday’s 6:30-7:30
Where: Emmaus Road Media Room
What: For years Christians have been asking, "If you died tonight, do you know where you would go?" It turns out that many believers have been giving the wrong answer. It is not heaven. Award-winning author N. T. Wright outlines the present confusion about a Christian's future hope and shows how it is deeply intertwined with how we live today. Wright convincingly argues that what we believe about life after death directly affects what we believe about life before death. For if God intends to renew the whole creation—and if this has already begun in Jesus's resurrection—the church cannot stop at "saving souls" but must anticipate the eventual renewal by working for God's kingdom in the wider world, bringing healing and hope in the present life.
