For the past eight years we have participated in a Christmas-season movement called Advent Conspiracy. The purpose of this movement is to encourage us to live the Christmas story differently than the consumeristic narrative of American culture and give to those in need.

You can participate in Advent Conspiracy (A/C) in several ways:
1. Give non-traditional gifts: Instead of buying gifts at the store that your loved ones probably don’t need, try giving gifts like time, presence, and laughter. Then take the money you save and give it to the A/C offering to help build wells.

2. Buy gifts at our Gift Fair: If you must buy a gift (we know about those family gift exchanges where you can’t exactly come empty-handed), plan to attend our Advent Conspiracy Gift Fair on December 4 & 11. This gift fair is full of homemade gifts specially crafted by members of our congregation.

3. Make gifts to be sold at the gift fair! If you have a crafting skill or other talent, we encourage you to make items to sell at the gift fair. Gifts priced between $5-$35 usually sell the best. A list of ideas is below.

4. Give to Advent Conspiracy directly. Beginning November 27th you can give a financial gift to Advent Conspiracy. All money raised through this special offering and the gift fair will go to build wells in Africa through an organization called Marion Medical Mission. Marion Medical builds shallow water wells for just $400 per well!
